Alex's Silverado

Why not just skip ahead to the part where you tear this down and buy all new equipment again?
Because I'm not done with this build yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Front of the wall won't be painted until after I glass/seal the edges to the B-pillar. That probably won't happen until I go to Iowa, but just figured I'd post a picture of the front of the box

Ran out of fuse holders and I need to buy some more at a local audio shop tomorrow. Installed the second sub, and tried for a third. I can't hold the subs up by myself and screw them in at the same time, so I'll need help with that another day

Be sure to have some netting or something so that the poly fill can't get pulled into the motors of those bottom subs. Don't want polyester touching a hot coil, or just getting jammed in the gap in general.

I've used this polyfill with subs before and had no issues whatsoever. It clumps enough that small strands don't get sucked into the motor

I give it two months.. lol
Or until he gets near a TermLab, whichever comes first.

My gut tells me if he can't get loud with DD-Z or Wardens switching up to all off-brand stuff with more or less the same power and cone area isn't going to be the silver bullet.

Thanks, subs are in and playing, but I'm doing the detail work now.

Still need to do my door panels, but those probably won't get done before I go to college.

Right now I have home stereo speakers rigged up to my mids/highs amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Thanks, lol.

Gabby said she wants to see it this week. Haven't seen her in months. She got her nose pierced and she has a tattoo on her back now that she "wants to show me" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

Taking the day off of work for that one //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I leave for college in 5 days now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif

I delivered a 5,348 pound $1,008.70 battery order today. One pallet was 2,665 pounds and the other was 2,683 pounds. $1,008.70 was the total bill. I delivered them to a state museum for their battery backup system. Our Chevy Silverado 2500 hauled them no problem!

Started on the driver's side

Foamed the passenger side during my shift and painted it when I got home

Sealing the passenger side and adding the stripper pole make it sound better, and I'm able to turn it up more without things rattling as much //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The splatter paint is cool //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
I'd gotten nothing but compliments on it until you, so you can go fuck yourself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Anyways....

Ceiling is in, although there is a gap. I'll fill it in with spray foam

Got half the bus bars done. Will install the last three tomorrow at work

Just curious how come you didn't try to drill holes in your buss bars so you could bolt them directly to the batteries instead of attaching via short runs of wire?

1. They weren't wide enough to touch all the terminals when set up like this. Would have either needed bus bars twice as wide or twice as many bus bars and have a half-inch gap between bars.

2. The holes didn't have to be super accurate when set up like this. There's a little play in it and it also allows the batteries to shift slightly without damaging the terminals

3. I already had the wires cut/crimped/shrinked from my last build
