Headunit issues sometimes won't turn on and pops thru speakers every 8 seconds

My headunit sometimes will not come on and makes a popping through the speakers every 8 seconds and then will come on. Sometimes it comes on normally with no issues at all. Do you think it is a ground issue or the bunched up wires behind the deck hitting a rca?????
