I think I killed a Beyma 8G40. I was just running a 80 hz test tone through it at about 30 % power to find some rattles in my door.

All of a sudden the sound just took on a metallic tone. Almost like a small piece of the cone separated.

I guess I'm not supposed to run test tones through those.

Maybe the manufacturer will take it back and I will get something else like the DD VO-W8.

I'll take that idiot of the day award now.
 
Tell me about it, I've been feeling bummed about it for a while now. I was really looking forward to hearing these. I just ordered something cheaper to replace em. Guess I'll never know what some Beymas can sound like.

Similar threads

Before you remove the amp, swap the front RCAs with the rear ones on the amp and repeat the test. Many guys here use the Pioneer amps and love...
