Honestly, I dont think the difference in sound will justify the amount of money you are about to spend. If you are going to make a change with that much cash involved, do something a little more drastic. maybe step up to 12s, and maybe get something other than those sloppy kicker subwoofers.

If you're spending $130 on each sub, and $140 on a second amp, that's $400 altogether. For the same price you could get better.

what do you suggest doing without changing the size of the subs...i have a box under my backseat that only fits 2 10"s

That doesn't say much.

How big is the box? Is it a prefabricated box? Is it 3/4" MDF construction? If the first answer is small, second is true, third is false, you need to first look into getting a proper enclosure.

Now, if it's a decent sized box, we need to know the exact size, in cubic feet (moderately exact, I mean >_>), so we can determine what subs would match it.

Understandably, room is limited. But having a proper enclosure is vital. If you have limited room, give us the dimensions.

The Kappa's have a high sensitivity rating of 93 db so the X802-5 would be fine. A good high sensitivity 8" sub in a properly sized box would fit...
