Need second opinion on suggestions given by my local shop

Hi All

I went to my local shop for an alarm and we started talking about a possible audio system for my car. I'm no expert, so please forgive any questions or assumptions that may sound naive.

The only system I've had was in my previous car and it consisted of 80PRS, Polk coaxials in the four doors and a small 45 x 4 Alpine amp. No sub. I gotta say, the auto time alignment and equalization from the 80PRS was very good (at least for my untrained ear).

So after talking to this guy and listening to his personal system in his car, now I've got the bug again and want a system.

They are an authorized JL dealer but they sell, Memphis, Beyma, etc. He suggested to do all JL Audio equipment. Four C5 coax, JL FIX, two amps (don't remember model #'s but I believe he said X something), and one 12" TW3.

What do you guys think about his suggestions? Now, one thing I really want is time alignment and a flat response, for that I think I need the JL TWK as well, correct? (assuming we're using JL all the way).

Do you think you can achieve a good sound stage with coaxs in the front? In my previous system I had coaxs in the front and it had pretty good separation but I wish the sound stage was a little higher (on top of the dash). I'm not sure why he didn't suggest components for the front and I don't know if components help in raising the sound stage.

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. -thanks

The Kappa's have a high sensitivity rating of 93 db so the X802-5 would be fine. A good high sensitivity 8" sub in a properly sized box would fit...
