Well, just last weekend, I had taken my weekly walk up to 'the cage' parking lot at Tech to drive to Knoxville for the next couple of days. To my chagrin, I found my subwoofer unable to perform, and I opened the truck to investigate. I found the amp (Hifonics bx1000d, I think...it wasn't mine) had it's power LED and protect LED off, but the blue Hifonics was lit. I used a simple voltmeter to test the power and remote leads (all are still hot), and I'm almost positive the ground is in a nice location. The only thing I'm thinking is that the amp is messed up (based on the knowledge the previous user likely sent mega-clipped signals though it). Is there anything I'm missing, or anything I might not be considering the problem? Has anyone else had this problem? I'm just weirded out because it isn't going into protect or anything.

Glad to hear it was a simple fix and the amp is working again. The 9v reading indicated it was likely a bad connection somewhere.

Who had that Badazzed Astro Van?? I remember going to Austin seeing that ride. That thing made Earth pavement move about 50 ft before I got close...
