Ford has no good vehicles and Chrysler has stopped all manufacturing. I would go with a Honda Cr-v or a Toyota. Been using Honda scene 96 with a 1996 Honda civic that dies at 398000 miles on it original clutch and trans and never broke down or had a problem. We now have 3 Honda civics and a Honda element in the driveway.

im searching out a older "boxy" jeep wagon to make a bass box out of.

I have yet to see a "sucky" jeep here on the fourms.
