upgrade from IDMAX???

i mean currently i have the sundown 1500d so im guessing im pushing close to that, so each sub would be pushing 750 which is slightly under its rms of 1000

if you are really looking to change subs for something better sounding or similar you could always try the new Mags when they get out.

After reading reviews from test it seems like a great sounding sub and only needs 1 cu ft sealed per woofer

I didnt read the whole thread but from what you posted on box size, your box is too small. I came up with 1.1ft3 each. For the Max 12 to really shine it needs 1.4 per driver. You could get away with what you have but go invest in some poly fill but I also think polyfill is a bit of a bandaid. Increase box size by .6-1ft and get ready for the best sub you have ever head!

You'll have all the trunk you need.
These look quite familiar //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif

Personally hearing both these type of setups, I'd definitely say it's a great way to go.

wonder if i can do IB for my 18"
hmmm....
Thought about that when I had my Accord, but wasn't going to work because of the stupid rear seat belt which had a little box hanging from the rear deck. I lost out on a good 3" because of that. Probably could have worked around it...you might be able to since you didn't have that issue.

Looks like you need a bigger box.

One of the best sounding setups I have ever heard was 2 ID Max's off about 1800rms and it was pure heaven! I don't know why you would want anything else, unless you don't have the power, which you shouldn't overpower them. They do fine off 600rms if you ask me.

I just think you need a bigger box myself.

Yeah, that enclosure is less than 2 cubes GROSS. I'd put a pair of IDMAX's in about 3 cubes, myself. A larger enclosure will tighten and flatten the response, eliminating any extra boominess that I'm willing to bet that you are experiencing.

i know this thread is 8 months old but can someone suggest a new setup (AMP) for me... i'm looking to get loud and will be making another box for this setup... currently i have a sundown 1500d and will probably be selling it since it doesnt seem to be cutting it for me

thanks!
