What does this mean?

Looks like someone abused their subs. I have never EVER seen a IDMAX blow or have a tinsel lead issue. TBH It looks like Clipping.

He bought it used and reconed. It's very obvious that whoever reconed it didn't solder correctly as the leads fell off. That does not look like clipping. Clipping would have burnt them and most likely be burned and broken in the middle not right at the solder.

Personally I would just remove the cone as above in the video. fix the tinsel and then rebolt back down. easy 30 minutes job if not faster. would need a few shims also. local shop might have some..

I think I would've heard some distortion and I just hooked them up so I had my trunk open listening to them. Volume was only on 23 out of 40.

I don't know much about audio equipment so I'm not going to act like a professional but I've had a lot of help from here and from all the pics I've looked at that have been clipped there are burnt leads.

They don't look like this.

So basically you say the tinsel lead came loose? So just fix it. I would take it apart and fix it, super easy to do. You had them in your trunk, you powered them with a amp, lead came loose. I know ID started to use V4 cones on V3 baskets when stock ran low and they were making the transition to V4 drivers.

I plan on it as soon as I get time

They are fixed...glad too cause I didn't want to spend 350 on recones when the ones on them are fresh. Thank for the help everyone

Easy to fix too~! So how do they sound????
Glad you got them FIXED
They sound good but I don't think I have enough power to them and my electrical is lacking. I'm not sure about the sealed box. Neverending lol

You're not going to know until you test with a meter. Typically even carpeting a box as opposed to painting is going to lose a few tenths.
