Which shallow-mount sub?

hmmm remove the floormat and you should have 7 inches if you can press the box into the seat, fiberglass the top of the box and do downfire and you can fit something with more mounting depth like a CDT sub that should sound better than LP... You can always cutout the floormat later to fit around the box..

Evenwithout fiberglass that CDT sub might fit if you use 5/8th MDF for the top of the box. Just an example.

My Titan has about 9 inches in the front and goes down to 5 or 6 or so in the back and I have full side subs. I think you have the space for something better if you are careful.

Other options would be to raise the seats, or even just use a rubber spacer where the rubber pad is not to keep them from coming down all the way in the front that would give you a couple inches up front and then you could forward fire some beefy 8's would would probably be better than shallow 10's.

That Exile Audio XTEC 10 is one of the nices shallow subs I have seen in terms of the specs. I would try one of those ported or two sealed.

Wait for the new Stereo Integrity Mag or BM, the new Mag is only 5.5" thick and the new BM will be only 3.5" thick and they should be awesome drivers. The Xmax on either new SI sub beats the JL ones, the BM will have 12mm one way excursion and the new Mag will have 16mm one way excursion.

i heard of this company called kaption, they also make a shallow mount woofer.....
The Kaption audio is made by DFS sales, or at least it was. It's a good product. Basically the same driver with different cosmetics than the one that DFS sells direct through their Lorentz Audio site. We used to buy their 10" neo 8ohm slimline to use in our home theater inwall subwoofer. It is the best out of every slim driver on the market from what I have seen. Joe D'Appolito uses it in the Snell inwall subwoofer here:

Lorentz has a few different ones now.

In any case, you likely won't find a better slim woofer at any price, and they are a great deal for what they sell them for. We only stopped selling them because their pricing off the website was too low for us to compete with buying them from DFS.

These are also very good drivers, some of the best bang for the busk on shallow mounts. DD Audio SL610-D2 10"...
