Well if that guy turned you down because it was gonna be too much labor, do you really think that Maaco is going to do all of that labor or half ass it?
exactly. It's not that their guys CANT do a good job, its that they have piles of cars to paint on a strict budget, so they cut down on the details of the job to give you the best value possible while retaining a good profit.

Their $1,000 paint job is a good deal. The paint honestly looks like factory paint, nothing wrong with that and a 5 year warranty. Don't expect them to give you a showroom job for a price that cheap.

 
There's a guy around here that told me he would give me a complete paint job for $1200, take down a layer of factory paint, prime, and apply new paint. He also would include a lifetime warrenty. go to a real body shop, had a car pained from them some years back and it was horrid, they never primed or sanded the car just painted right over old paint, started flaking off after a few weeks.

stay away............
