That's pretty cool. I've seen water-cooled computers before, but haven't examined them or researched them. I like it. The reason I have so many spare electronics parts is because I was going to learn how to build computers, but that has been on hold for the better part of a decade.

That's lint/dust. I haven't cleaned it thoroughly yet because I just got it out of storage a week ago. I did clean parts of it when I took it apart, but not all the little nooks and crannies.

We've been discussing this in my build-planning thread. I have settled on a single good 12" sub (maybe a JL 12W0v3-4) for the good system, in an optimized box I'm building myself. Before learning more, I was thinking of emphasizing different aspects with two different subs, as my build largely...

The other sub is 4 ohms, running off of the other bridged channel.

By too low, do you mean powering lower ohm speakers or higher? ...because one of my subs is 6 ohms (yeah I know, but this is a temporary experimental system while I learn and straighten things out, which might be taking place right now ). It's a very potent sub I've had for 16 years that has...

Thanks for helping My gains are set pretty low, about 1/4, and one channel a little less than the other. The ground is a rather good 8ga wire that came with the 300 RMS amp, and connected to the car well. Perhaps I should try another spot just to be certain. There is an issue with one of...

LOL! Ricing out an amp. That's fairly accurate. My friend is the one who pointed out that "the amp has a spoiler". I think it's hilarious. I might just paint some flames on it since it is kind of a joke anyway. Thanks for pointing out some aspects to amplifiers. As I mentioned, I am fairly...

That seems a bit more complicated Liquid cooled electronics are fascinating. Perhaps if I had a shop and 40 hours in each day to work I'd do that and much more I do have a nice laptop cooling rig from a broken laptop though, one of those with the long copper tube that runs through heat...

This amp is in fact in use right now. That's how I know it gets too hot to touch, or at least it did before modifying it, so it has in fact previously been installed in-place and examined for heat. Although this is a temporary system, I would prefer to have it continue working by having a...

I decided to play with my spare amp late last night, adding some cooling mods. It's good practice if nothing else. I started a thread in the Amp discussion section with more pics and explanations... http://www.caraudio.com/forums/amplifiers/629415-amp-cooling-mods-pics.html I've been...

This is my $15 junk yard amp, a spare. I still haven't cleaned it thoroughly yet because it hasn't been out of storage for long at all. It gets pretty hot running two bridged channels powering techno, so I'm practicing a few modifications. -Larger Primary Heat Sink (not including the body)...

Thanks for the replies I was thinking how I wish that HU didn't have the fancy display or all the smart phone features so it could be cheaper, so I started a feature-based search and found this DSP with selectable slope, phase control per channel, signal delay per channel, 16-band parametric...

The hostility is not warranted. I have not mentioned the crossovers since it was pointed out that the HU does a better job. That issue has been closed. I'm not sure why you even mentioned them. The HU I posted has nothing to do with the crossover and equalizer previously mentioned...

Very nice example! On the bright side, my car has already been stripped for weight reduction, so that's out of the way. The bad thing... the car has been stripped for weight reduction, so a lot of work is necessary. I have reupholstered it with lightweight material, but that's really just an...

I just had an idea that I can't find replicated anywhere online, and I know everyone will hate it It might help with time alignment since that is mainly a correction for speaker placement, and may help other aspects if it doesn't create more issues than it solves... Each front seat gets it's...
