not white power... amp power! i'm gonna be running dual mlk165 drivers per door on a 2ohm load, with id ultra horns. gonna run 2 amps seperate for the mlk165's and the horns. i would like to get around 600 watts per door. i was looking at the hertz H2, but larry @ elettromedia said the amps are huge and not very sq friendly. anybody know of a high powered, balls to the wall sql amp that can meet my goals?

600 per door? Wow!

I give my mids 300 each from one of those new JL HD 600/4 amps (bridged). I also use another 600/4 to run my front tweets and rear coaxials.

The sound quality is amazing and it's darn loud.

good god why would you need that much power for your regular speakers?

I had 100 watts going to my components and they could get louder than I ever cared to listen to them...

if it was 4 ohms i'd suggust the Q700.2 but since 2 i'd suggest the 1200.1 one per side //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

1200.1 per side? that's insane!!!!!

It's almost like you can tell the equipment isn't straining to get loud. You don't have to crank the gain knob or volume knob and therefore you eliminate clipping and distortion. But I'll admit, 100 watts per side is normally plenty. I figured I was insane with the amount of power I'm feeding mine, but 600w per door? And aren't horns really efficient/loud anyway? I have no experience with horns, so correct me if I'm wrong about that.

the horns will see no more than 100 watts

he gotta balance out the power he's got going to his horns. them ultras can get really loud. i have a ID Q700.2 going to my horns gained all the way down, a Q700.2 ran stereo to 2 6.5s per door giving me 325 watts per 2 x65mids then a 1200.1 for my 2 IDQs. now when the x8s come out i'll be running one 700.2 bridged 4 ohms 650 watts per 8.

300X2 2ohm

600X2 1ohm

1200X1 2ohm
