Pioneer SPH-DA360DAB

Evening all.

I have a 2016 Dacia Duster, I replaced the factory fitted stereo with the Pioneer SPH-DA120 worked great even with the factory fitted speakers.
Replaced the factory speakers last year with Hertz DSK 130.3 speakers and separate tweeters, sound was OK but not as good as the factory speakers, lacked bass.
Over the summer the SPH-DA120 started playing up and I decided to upgrade to the Pioneer SPH-DA360DAB
Whislt benefiting from wireless apple carplay have to say that it's nowhere on par with the DA120 in terms of sound.
What am I doing wrong ????
Do I need to add an amplifier ?

amp never hurts to have even if its not plugged in it could be used in future projects

Factory speakers have a low power rating so it does not take much to get them moving. Aftermarkets have a higher power rating so an amp will definitely make them shine.
