Possible new cop radar??????

Heres what happened

I got pulled over tonight passing a cop (Like hes going one way im going the opposite) doing no more than 70 in a 55. He wasnt gunning cause my radar wasnt going off. So then I see him do a u turn and im thinkin oh ****. After he did his U-turn he turned his radar on cause he was shootin K and X at the same time. So the whole time I was going buy him or before that his radar was NOT on. Eventually I was pulled over and issued a warning. I told one of my friends the situation and he told me about some kind of "Air Sensor" that cops have on the sides of their cars that when u pass them it can pickup how fast ur going by the air that passed by them. Is this just a case of BS and the cop was fishin for a ticket or are these "Air Sensors" actually real. I agve Escort an email about this subject and when they get back to me I will post it if its true or not.

The ony thing i can think of was he didnt have **** on me, made up a BS # in his head, saw my Escort 8500 and gave me a warning

It might or might not be true but my 2 cents is its going to be very hard to build something that can do that WHILE you are moving. My guess is that he noticed you going fast and then turned on the radar to clock you. Otherwise he would have not needed to turn on the radar.

exactly its impossible, because depending on the size of your truck, that would depend on the size of air going by!

In TN, you don't have to get exact speed. I think they call it observation, or something similar. There is a place for it on the ticket. Don't know how well it would hold up in court however.

i doubt it.

im sure officers were trained to "pace" drivers in all ways. i was pulled for doing "35mph in 25mph (i was truthfully hitting 28mph-31mph)" zone by an officers judgement when he was 2 blocks down the road driving in the opposite direction DURING a curve. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

im suprised he gave you a warning, from what i hear, drivers with radars are "automatically issued tickets" as it makes them think that driver tends to speed.

Im positive they have no such devices for registering speed as of yet...w/that said,you cant be given a ticket for your tendancies no matter the state.If the officer did not see it or have it recorded ,then you didnt do it:up2somet:

^true. but assuming you broke the law (speeding)...then mostly likely, your chance of the warning goes downhill.

Yeah, if you have a radar in the cops mind they want to give you one even more then if you didnt have one - Meening a ticket,

I have my radar undermy dash, and i have a space where i can see it and set it and such, then i have a wire that runs to the top of my dash that gets the detection - almost like an antenna so to say, but a radar.

My thoughts exactly were on the size of ur vehicle. Cause I mean take my S-10 goin 45 and a semi doin 45, it can't compare. Im down with that comparison thing though. But the fact is it has to come off the radar they can't assume. Because they have to show something in court that it was actually recorded

Im still down with him seein my radar and sayin F this i dont have a chance. Maybe that was why he was so pissed when he walked away. Because I would have picked him up from a good mile down the road and if he popped me it would have registered on the LED display and stayed their for about 7 seconds. He just said "Im issuing a warning" and just walked off cause those ****ers are SUPPOSE to tell you to drive safely.

But anyways im still waiting on an e-mail from Escort and I still will post what they have to say as soon as they get back to me.

Officer specualtion and good logic holds up in court. They are trained to tell, in detail, the speed of a moving car from all sorts of angles, positions and situations. My uncle can easily register within +/-5mph how fast a vehicle is approaching him from his rear view mirror, and his arrogant ass proves it every time by tailgaiting the vehicle after they pass.

Some states that create higher revenue obviously have a little differant technology... However, the air speed/pressure is crap. That would be completly impossible. FlipX, in Arkansas and Florida you can be ticketed for "Driving beyond a reasonable speed". Which is where you are not clocked, but observed flying past objects such as other cars. There are ways out of it though. I was taken to jail one night for this. I was on the freeway running about 140 in a '90 GTA. What saved my hide is that it was 3am, there were no other cars, no freeway lights, etc.. so in turn nothing to guage my speed by.

Ah... how sweet is the age of innocence... Come to the bible belt brother. Cops and local government for that matter pretty well do what they want. If for some reason you are pulled over and they dont like what they see (tatoos, radar detector, long hair, etc..) there isnt chit you can do about it. Good Ole boy country = Rampantly corrupt city/state government
