Rockford Fosgate RFR 3110 Rebuild

Sub is complete. After soldering was complete this evening I tested it for 30 minutes at 30-50 hz. No weird noises other problems. Dust cap is glued on and curing. I will say that the 450w that I have the amp setup at for my little xd didn't move this monster much lol.

4” coil is pretty huge and with that comes the added weight to move. Good news is all you need is more power 🤣😂

Nice project! Came out great!

Man I wanted some of the Power HX2's when I was young back then. I don't know why RF didn't keep making similar subs. I'm sure some of their modern subs perform decent enough, but they should have kept at least this line.

Thanks bro. I looked at their current lines really closely. They probably sound good and hit decent but they look very gimmicky to me. The magnets are small, they cover them with all that plastic to make it look big. They are not the same company they were when I bought these back in the day that's for sure.

Turned out awesome! Looks OEM with custom add-ons. I wondered if the red stitch would add or retract to the aesthetics, but it looks like original design. I am now better armed with knowledge for my own RFRs. Thank you.

Well it's completely finished and installed. The amp is way to small, this sub is laughing at it, any hard volume and it clips pretty bad. So I turned it down and it plays great, about the same as the XD but I know it has gobs more output. Box is in the works, 250amp alternator and looking at 2k amps. Probably going to go with the cab 22 or taramps md1800. Just a few shots of it before I threw it in this little dinky prefab (I know it's a prefab I just got back into the game). Took some shots of the wiring and the shrink tube I applied. I honestly think I can make this sub pound pretty hard, we will see.
