Will DAB aerial only work if copper part is connected to car metal ?

I ask this question as I am testing to see if my new DAB aerial will work at all.
Just plugged in tio my car stereo it does not work now, but I have niot yet connected copper foil to car metal.

Link to antenna. I'm guessing the copper foil should be connected to glass, not metal, but lets see the antenna. Did it come with instructions?
