Need a 15 inch sub for a custom, sealed, SQ-oriented box; 750 watts

Sealed for the E or Gcon 15 should be about 2 cubes. Changing it .25 cubes whether larger or smaller won't make a huge difference. I highly recommend going 4 cubes ported for either though. At the end of the day it's your setup but you won't be disappointed.

I just dont see how im supposed to get a flat frequency response and sound quality if I go ported. I'm having a guy at HID unlimited build the box out of Birch wood for me. I'm sure hes good at building boxes but I dont know if he can build a ported box that will sound better than sealed in terms of SQ.

Sealed is far from flat. Its just linear but loses a lot of low end extension. Ported can be tuned in many ways. Most that dont know just build a random box that will sound like dog sh*t. Wood working skills is different from proper enclosure design.

How big, wide and long the port is to the relation of the box size and woofers characteristics and how that box will behave in your vehicle along with proper tuning afterwards makes up the sound quality you get from a properly made ported box. If all this is above your builder's head as in he has no idea how to respond other than trashing others, then stick with sealed, he has no clue.

Alright so I just bought the SSA GCON 15. So my setup will be that with my Kicker ZX.750.1 Amp in a Jeep with the goal of SQ and low bass. My box options are sealed with 2.5-3.0 cu feet and ported with 4.0-5.0 cubic feet. What would you guys recommend?

I have very, very nice crossfire c7 15" for sale but IRS at 1250 RMS rating plus the money you were just about to spend on those rf or kickers sub's you can get a better amp to run it pm me if interested

The Kappa's have a high sensitivity rating of 93 db so the X802-5 would be fine. A good high sensitivity 8" sub in a properly sized box would fit...

Yup , the dsp should have input sections, it may have one for sub? Hu to dsp. Dsp to amps, amps to speakers. Probably help you to draw this all...
