the only difference is the number of voice coils. single has one, dual has two.

neither is better than the other. the multiple VC's just offer more options for wiring.

The only advantage that you get with dvc is the wiring flexibility. Say you have a 4 ohm dvc, you can wire it up as 2 ohm or 8 ohm. With a svc you get what you paid for unless you have more than one sub.

it depends on the type of install.. what amp u using and how many subs... and what is their resistance (check with Amp )

Dual voice Coils give you more options on installs...
