just recently. new wiring for big 3, 1/0 batt to back, 2 kenwood amps, 2 kenwood speakers. in a prefab sealed box.

had an issue that already existed on the car. had to rip everything apart to resolve the issue.

issue was entire cars voltage was flipping out with bass. turns out somehow the terminal cups on the prefab box was shorting out.

biggest pain in the ass install..

Paid 20 for the sub and 60 for two 1000 watt pyramid. Looking back from then to now, Im embrassed to even mention. Don't think I had a crappy first system. Had polk components up front. Powered by a kicker amp. For subs had two MTX subs in a ported box made by my grandpa and me run off of a mtx amp. It wasn't the cheap **** mtx stuff either it was the good shiat. Had one yellowtop up front and back with 0 gauge to the back. It was good and sold it for more than i paid so it worked out well.

I was running a ghetto setup when i was in high school. Back then i thought it was the greatest system around. Soon after my brother showed me that name brand stuff beat the crap out of my swapmeet setup. everything changed.

My first setup was sad, but not like some of the stories here.

1988 Jeep Wrangler:

Pioneer DEH-4700MP CD/MP3 from bestbuy.

4x6 Pioneer 3-ways in the dash, run off the head unit.

6x9 Pioneer 3-ways in rear pods, powered off a 2ch Pyramid amp.

2 10" Pioneer subs, powered off another 2ch Pyramid amp.

If anyone knows the speaker placement in wranglers, imaging is the last thing you think of. The speakers were on the sides of the dash, facing directly towards the back. The dash stuck out past the speakers, so all sound was indirect. The rear pods I had were mounted facing each other (Side to side).
