    2ch amp for JBL P660C components

    if i wanted to save a few bucks while still meeting my needs, would this be just as fine: Amazon.com : PRECISION POWER BA800.2 Black Ice Series Class A/B Amp (800W, 2 Channel) : Car Electronics or an almost identical soundstream one...

    2ch amp for JBL P660C components

    i'm looking for a decent 2 channel amp to power some P660C components. they are rated 90W RMS but i have read they can easily handle double that power without a problem, not that i plan to push them that hard. i'm looking for a reliable amp around 150-200W RMS per channel (for some leeway) in...

    coaxials vs 2-way component set using factory tweeter mounting

    i removed the stock tweeter. it's secured by a simple threaded insert so any aftermarket tweeter with a screw hole should be able to mount right to the stock bracket. the tweeter is .75" deep and 1.375" wide. i believe it goes flush against the cover though. would most tweeters fit this? thanks

    coaxials vs 2-way component set using factory tweeter mounting

    i have a kicker cvr 15 in a ported enclosure @32hz with a kenwood 8104d. everything else is stock. i want to upgrade just my front speakers and leave the rears stock connected to the HU because the sub will over power them anyway. originally i planned on getting a decent pair of coaxials and a...

    Question about Voltage Formula for determining Amp Gain

    If Voltage of the output = sqrt(RMS Power X impedance of the speaker) I have a Kicker 12" 800 Watt 4 Ohm Dual Voice Coil Comp VR. I have it bridged down to 2 ohms. But if I want to determine the needed output voltage from the amp, would I use the 4ohms that the sub is rated for (which would...

    Most likely Clipping?

    Ok, so I have a JVC head unit (20 W RMS X4) with stock speakers on an '05 Corolla (6 speaker model; 4 speakers, 2 "tweeters"). The speakers have '17.5 W' and '6 ohms' stamped on the magnet) and I'm guessing 17.5 is RMS (at least what I read online)? So the head unit has this feature: "Amplifier...

    using DMM

    yes i was playing a 50hz tone. i did the equation correct [sqrt root(400 RMS * 2 ohms)] ~28V also, i have a JVC head unit with stock speakers. there is an 'amp gain' feature on the head unit: Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using this head unit with factory speakers (or those rated to...

    using DMM

    I have a 400 W RMS Kicker @ 2ohms The HU is at max volume and the amp gain is about halfway. If the multimeter is reading ~15V, do I increase the gain until it reads ~28V (max rated power)? Thanks

    head unit too powerful for stock speakers

    i set it to high power. the speakers start to distort around 40 so i will try to keep it around 35-38 max.

    head unit too powerful for stock speakers

    I have stock speakers in my '05 Corolla and a JVC 20 W RMS x 4 head unit. The head unit has an amp gain feature: "Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using the head unit with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power...

    Head Unit settings and Stock Speakers

    that's what i thought but i've read a lot of tutorials online that say make sure all equalizers are off/set to zero so that you can get a "clean" signal to base your gain off of.

    Head Unit settings and Stock Speakers

    I removed the double-DIN stock head unit in my 2005 Toyota Corolla. I replaced it with a JVC Head Unit that puts out 20 W RMS x 4 at 4ohms It has an option in the settings called 'Amp Gain'. You can change it to high power (making max volume 0-50) or low power (making max volume 0-30). It says...

    Radio Upgrade Damaged ECM [Need Advice/Info]

    Well it was toed to Toyota today and sure enough, the ECU had to be reset just like I had guessed. The fuel pump was still good, the ECU just wasn't telling it to do the right thing I guess. Anyway, I don't if it's just paranoia, but I still seem to feel a slight vibration when idling in drive...
