Buy one and see for yourself. If you don't like it, sell it and pick something else. That's the beauty of car audio.

You should not use bass boost to make your sub louder. Upgrade your electrical or substage if you want louder.

From what I've read, the SSD and BL/BTL are better suited for spl than the Q.

Most likely not. You'll probably lose a lot of low end. I have the SSD and it's tuned to 32HZ. Use WinISD and see for yourself.

Sloppy bass- That box is a little on the large side. Website says 3 cubes. Lack of midbass- Make sure the tweeter attenuation is all the way down. Hissing- Getting a better amp for the comps would probably help.
