Looking for a good affordable car stereo receiver.

saw this, and remembered this thread:

7 volt preouts, (for an amp) in a $70 head unit. They make some of their own products, and some of there other install stuff is one-off design that's good stuff. Looks like a common chinese design, but you're at least working with an American company.

Personally I like the really simple design. It makes it easy to use with one hand while driving and not looking.

Doesn't have CD, but has front USB (up to 64gb which is better than most). USB is so much better. Never fumbling with CDs after a few songs. Put your playlist of thousands of songs on an $12 flash drive, and you can shuffle, copy, or edit it pretty easily. Copy the CDs to digital, then put them back in their case to keep em from getting scratched.

CONS: 2 band eq (bass and treble) - OR you could say this is a really simple to use head unit.

It's a Volvo factory amp, so there's a custom wire harness between the head and amp.
