Please help me out. Details inside!

It seems that you are too wrapped up in what JL recommends. Yes, it can be a good idea to put the tweets as close to the mids as possible (with any comps not just JL) but in a lot of cases it's easier to get decent sound by mounting the tweets in the a pillars. I say don't buy an extra set of...

    Low power seperates options

Thanks I appreciate the feedback. So you think the ID's need too much power to sound good? I'll check out the other site, I just figured that there have to be plenty of people on this site running an active system that could give me some input.

    Low power seperates options

Hey everyone, I've been away from the forum for a couple of months but I'm back now and I'm looking for suggestions. I have a Denon 4-channel that I am using to power some entry level Bostons off of my 880. The amp is rated at 50x4 at 4ohms. I want to upgrade my front stage a bit and I want...

    Pioneer 880 ipod problem

I have an 880 and I use my ipod with it pretty regularly with the ipod interface. I have noticed that on (seemingly) random occasions a song will start playing and after about 5 seconds it'll skip to the next song. I thought that it was a problem with certain songs on my ipod, but if I go into...

    need help with system

Humm, good point. Ok, if you can follow directions you can do the big 3. All of the steps are layed out for you, it's very simple (maybe not easy, but simple).

    need help with system

If you can wire an amp you can do the big 3.

    need help with system

First step is not to blow a lot on batteries or alternators. Check out the threads on "the big 3" this will make your electrical system more efficient, then if you still have dimming upgrade alternator and batt.

    Crimpers/ strippers..

I use an x-acto knife, works great! Then to crimp I use heavy duty pliers or the classic hammer anvil method.

    Speaker selection, JL or BA?

Never heard the JL's but the Bostons are very nice sounding to me. It's a matter of preference, but either way I think you will be getting a very good speaker.

    Raising sound stage

My crossover points have been changing a lot lately, it's my first time running active and I'm doing a lot of experimenting. I'll get back to you later with what I have them set at now. I'm having more trouble with the slopes than the crossover points themselves. I guess I don't have the best...

    Raising sound stage

Yeah I have time alignment, I'll play with the low-pass and see if that helps. Thanks.

    HELP me wire plz

Air doesn't get out of a sealed box, hence the name sealed. No it doesn't have a higher tendency to blow. I prefer sealed boxes, they fit my taste in sound better than ported boxes. Typically they aren't as loud as ported boxes, but they are crisper and tighter with the bass notes. This is...

questions about my 2 nakmichi cd500's

I was so close to buying a na 91 rx7, but went with an 05 impreza instead. I grew up loving american muscle, and still do, but there is a lot of beauty in the rx7's. Comparing Pontiacs fleet car to a piece of automotive history is sad. Hopefully someday I'll be able to own an Iroc-Z and an...
